Frozen Yogurt Dots: A Sweet Summer Treat

I love ice-cream and frozen yogurt

Easily my favorite summer-time treats. I found this awesome idea on Pinterest (Pinterest strikes again!) two summers ago, and ever since these are a must have in my freezer during those hot, Oklahoma summer months.  Frozen yogurt drops are super tasty, and easy to make.
Here's what you'll need:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Large Ziploc freezer bag
  • Pair of scissors
  • A large cookie sheet (maybe a couple)
  • room in your freezer

Just go to your favorite grocery store and pick out a quart of your favorite Greek yogurt - my personal favorite is strawberry. I like Dannon's Oikos brand because they have lots of single serving flavors of Greek Yogurt without the fruit chunks on the bottom.  Note: Don't buy Greek yogurt with fruit on the bottom! Pick a brand that has the fruit flavor already mixed in.

Then you'll need to grab the large Ziploc freezer bag and spoon yogurt into the bag. Spoon as much yogurt as you want, you can make a big batch of FroYo drops and keep them in your freezer if you wish, or just make a small amount for a little snack later. Your choice.

Next use the scissors to cut a small corner off a bottom edge of the freezer bag. You're making a little cone to pipe the yogurt out onto the cookie sheet.

Finally, Squeeze small drops of yogurt onto the cookie sheet, and place in the freezer.

The drops take about 30 minutes to freeze, depending on the size of the drops of course.

When they're all done, use a little metal spatula to take the drops off the cookie sheet and into a bowl or tupperware and voila! A sweet summer treat for you to enjoy :)
